Oo for Octopus!

This week was O for Octopus week, and Olivia quickly pointed out it was O for Olivia as well:)
We read several cute stories about Octopus and made our very own too.
We practiced our patterns with pictures of Octopus as well. Each girl got 4 octopus and they had to glue them in the correct spot to complete the patterns.

We practiced 1-10 this week by gluing the correct number of stars by the number. We also made it a little tricky by having the girls make patterns with the blue and purple stars. They did awesome!

We also practiced numbers 1-10 with our 10 Octopus. The girls would pick a octopus, say what number was on the card then add that number of clothes pins to the card. Great fine motor activity as well as practice with number recognition and counting.

We started off December by making a Countdown to Christmas chain. The girls colored the strips of paper and we made them into the O shape and stapled them together. The girls will wake up every morning and take one O off everyday until Christmas! How exciting!
