Ii, 8, orange, octagon week

I hope everyone had a relaxing Fall break! We were glad to be back in the preschool routine this week!

The girls had fun making an H with their bodies in H week, we tried again this week with I.

They were even able to do a lower case i as well.

The girls practiced writing their capital and lower case I on the dry erase boards. They did a great job. I think the "dot" in the lowercase 'i' was their favorite part:)
We are wrapping up our weeks of shapes this week with Octagon. We were able to color a octagon stop sign red. We talked about safety signs and why we need stop signs and traffic lights. I told them to look for octagons while riding in the car:)

We have a new shape review matching game that the girls are playing in the picture below. It has all the shapes we have learned so far, as well as hearts and stars.

We were able to do two crafts this week that started with the letter I. We started with an igloo made of sugar cubes and frosting.
And ended the week with an inchworm on a leaf.
We also learned about the number 8 by putting our 8th puffball in the jar, gluing 8 macaroni on our paper jar, and counting bumble bees and beehives to find if their was 8. We also played our number matching game to review all our numbers we have learned so far.

For orange week we discussed everything we could think of that is orange and colored pictures of orange things and made a mini book of orange things.

A reminder for next week-the girls are able to wear their Halloween costumes to preschool on Thursday, October 27th, if you want them to. We will be doing Halloween activities that day. It should be fun:) Have a great weekend!
